This is the week doTERRA Wellness Advocates look forward to ALL year... it's Convention time!
I like to take my time packing, which doesn't pair well with procrastination. SO I was up until 4am the night before Ryker and I left for Salt Lake City... but I was so excited for our trip that I knew I wouldn't get much sleep anyway! It's important for me to make sure I have everything we need so that I can travel without stress or worry.
It's also important for me to live a lifestyle that is as toxin-free as possible. Besides clothes, diapers, laptop, snacks etc I loaded up my bag with plenty of vitamins, essential oils and all-natural self care products.
I thought you might want to see what's in my toiletries bag. Take a look!
FACECARE: I absolutely adore the doTERRA Facial Cleanser. It contains peppermint and melaleuca which leaves my skin feeling cool and tingly and is a nice way to wake up in the morning. I also have been loving the Veráge™ Moisturizer lately. It smells amazing with its blend of jasmine, geranium and juniper berry- the jasmine brings me right back to my childhood because my parents had a huge jasmine bush outside our front door. It's still there actually! After I do my makeup, I like to spritz on a bit of Rosewater Toner from The Herbal Cabinet for a glowy look.
HEALTHY SMILE: Ever since Jim and I switched to doTERRA's On Guard Natural Whitening Toothpaste we haven't gone back. Besides peppermint and wintergreen, it also contains On Guard Protective Blend to support the immune system which is GREAT for staying healthy while traveling. I love that it is whitening but also fluoride-free.
I am using the Protective Blend on the bottoms of my feet every night but also adding one drop to a bit of water as my mouthwash while here in Salt Lake City. Because it's so dry here, I'm using both the Herbal Cabinet Healing and Cooling Lip Balm during the day and Correct-X Essential Ointment at night to ward off chapped lips.
SUPPLEMENTS: I rely on daily supplements not only for meeting my nutrition needs but also energy, immune system support, pain relief and emotional maintenance. I like to joke that without my supplements I lose my "yogi superpowers." Besides my beloved Lifelong Vitality Pack I also made sure to take along Mito2Max for stamina and stress relief, Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex for aching muscles and On Guard Protective Softgels for extra immune and respiratory system support.
SPACE SAVERS: I use doTERRA's Deep Blue Rub to feel like myself again after long stretches of time sitting on a plane or lugging around heavy luggage (and a baby!) Rather than bring my whole tube, I like these convenient sample packets. Super affordable and perfect to stash in a purse, gym or yoga bag. I took along some samples of Shampoo and Conditioner, too. The lighter my suitcase the better!
ALL NATURAL DIYS: Sunscreen and deodorant are some of the most toxic body care products on the market. Since I'm not a fan of clogging my pores and filling my bloodstream with dangerous chemicals, I choose to make my own. Both my sunscreen and "pit paste" contain a mix of various carrier oils, Sandalwood and Lavender, all of which contain a natural SPF. I also added a bit of Rosemary oil to my pit paste for the yummy scent and energizing, memory-boosting properties. doTERRA also makes a fantastic deodorant!
ESSENTIAL OILS! Guys, it's really hard for me to narrow down my kit of 100+ essential oils to a small bag. But I was determined!! Here's what I chose to bring with my for the week along with a few of the many purposes I'll use each oil or blend for.
FRANKINCENSE: I chose to bring along some of the oils from my doTERRA Touch Kit, which come pre-diluted with fractionated coconut oil in a convenient roller. I'll use the frankincense for emotional grounding, fine lines and yoga/meditation while I'm here.
ON GUARD PROTECTIVE BLEND: Because I use this so much when traveling, I wanted to bring the roller for when I'm using this before I might touch Ryker's skin. On Guard contains some "hot" oils like cinnamon and clove that are not safe without heavy dilution on babies. This is the perfect to-go hand sanitizer to stash in the baby bag.
MELALEUCA: Additional immune system support, first aid and perfect for pimples.
IN TUNE FOCUS BLEND: One of my personal "spirit oils," I'll be glad to have this during Convention sessions to help me stay focused on all the great information we'll be learning.
WINTERGREEN: This has been one of my go-to's lately for sore muscles. It's also a fantastic tool to be able to surrender and "go with the flow" when you're not able to have your way!
PEPPERMINT: I use peppermint every single day, for freshening my breath (one drop is all you need), relieving occasional head and neck tension, digestive health and clear breathing. When I feel that afternoon slump, I inhale peppermint and apply to the back of my neck for an instant energy boost.
LAVENDER: Another must for first aid needs, I use lavender for my skin, hair and feeling relaxed. Because it's so gentle (and because doTERRA's oils are so pure), this is one that I feel comfortable applying to Ryker's feet to help him sleep easier or any boo-boo's he may get.
BALANCE GROUNDING BLEND: My favorite blend, I use Balance as a daily perfume mixed with Wild Orange. There's just something about Balance that makes me feel GOOD!
DOUGLAS FIR: This is another great one for skin, respiratory system and a positive mood but I brought it along because it smells SO DANG GOOD! It's fantastic mixed with Grapefruit in the diffuser.
WILD ORANGE: As I mentioned, wild orange pairs wonderfully with Balance as a natural perfume or cologne (this mix is pretty gender-neutral) but I'll also use it as an all-natural hand sanitizer and in water for its fantastic flavor. When I REALLY need energy, I'll pair it with my frankincense and peppermint and apply topically.
So there you go! My must-have doTERRA and other natural goodies for my week at Convention in Salt Lake City. It's a good feeling traveling with so many tools for natural wellness at our disposal. What are YOUR must have products? Share in the comments!
(full disclosure: I am a dōTERRA Wellness Advocate who both believes in and sells the products. If you'd like to purchase essential oils and support my business, you can visit my shop here. thanks!)
